Vision Statement:
Shannon Harding envisions a Belmont that honors its history while preparing for its future. She believes Belmont’s historic character is its greatest asset and should be preserved through thoughtful planning and responsible development.
Her vision includes reusing historic buildings for small businesses and community spaces, strengthening Schuyler Street, and welcoming growth that supports local families without disrupting the village’s quiet way of life. Shannon believes growth should pay for itself and that homeowners should not bear the burden of higher taxes.
By working with experienced planners, historians, and business leaders, Shannon wants to help Belmont become a place where people want to live, work, and invest — without losing the charm that makes it home.

Recently moved back in November, 2025 from North Tonawanda, NY

Homeowner and taxpayer in a lovely historical home on South Street, 4 doors down from her original home. Lived on Cemetery Hill in the town of Belmont most of her childhood through graduation.

Moved back here to spend the rest of her life near her Mother, Annette Harding, and close friends in Belmont, while contributing to the community. She has one adult daughter Tanner Baron, and two 11 year old shih tzus, Bailey and Mason.

Well educated and passionate on history. Has visited and toured several local and national historic site, multiple times. Including Boston, Gettysburg and DC.

Specializes in helping small to medium businesses grow, has worked with 100's of businesses in WNY, including thriving business districts in Buffalo, Williamsville, Lewiston, East Amherst and the Tonawandas. She also has clients Nationally.

Has held the positions of VP of Marketing and Business Development for a National Mobile Communication Company, earning her way from an Independent Sales Agent. She oversaw the development and training of 1000's of Sales Agents serving Small businesses. These types of businesses ranged from Restaurants, Retail, Event Venues and Non-Profits

Has won multiple sales awards and trips from National Companies.

Worked in software sales for one of the Top 3 Board Meeting Software companies in the US, in the Not-for-Profit sector. This gave her a thorough understanding of Board Management.

Worked in the Manufacturing Industry in WNY, working with medium sized manufacturing businesses to promote their businesses and sales growth for their products and services

Worked as a Wholesale Mortgage Account Executive, serving Mortgage brokers from Buffalo to Binghamton. Has a thorough understanding of Real Estate transactions.
Focused on growing the tax base without raising property taxes

Shannon supports preserving Belmont’s historic structures, reusing existing buildings, and planning for responsible growth as new housing and development come to the area.

Shannon has had enough of the county easily taking over properties and depleting potential tax bases. She believes this needs to be carefully rethought and planned out with experienced advocates. It is time for some fresh voices and more community-driven involvement.

Shannon plans to operate on a non-political perspective, but what is best for Belmont, it's future and leaving a legacy for generations to come. She is a business woman. Throughout her professional career, she has honed sharp negotiation skills and is able to resource from, network with and collaborate with business owners from both major political parties.
